On this album, I step outside of myself to explore the environment and culture that's around me, and use my voice as a reflection for folks of the Diaspora (i.e. Negros) and offer new and positive ways to view the world while transforming it. I explore spirituality, traveling, culture, black plight, and systematic neglect through the lens of an autistic, Middle-American black man.
Where my previous album "book I: spacing out music 101" was more about my exploring and peeling back the layers of my internal world, "BOOK II: NEGRO NOMAD" is about my external world.

This song is about the search for meaning beyond distractions and illusion. He uses the stories of his past to reflect on his purpose for being and seeks to evolve past the superficial.
Named after the main character Shaun Murphy in "The Good Doctor", I use him as a symbol to delve deeper into my autism, and give people a view of the inner workings of a black, autistic brain. Rather than run away from it like I've done with songs prior to this, I face it head on and morph it into a superpower.
A modern day old to hip hop addressing it's decline and urging the people to fully return to hip hop's essence. This establishes the assertive yet reflection voice of Shyheim the NEGRO NOMAD and places him as an insurmountable force within the hip hop landscape.

Wrote this joint about having to disconnect from yourself to follow the unnatural cycles of this world.
Inspired by Psalms 1:2 which says,
" But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.'
I took this scripture and reversed the "day and night" to come up with the title "night n' day" to show that cycles such as working 9-5s has kept us from our more natural frequencies.
